Jack Rides for WASLi Day 3

Jack Rides for WASLi Day 3
Day Three . . .
Jack rides for WASLI:
From Jack:
Shorter ride today. Began with a ride through the Defence Forces base near Prachuap Khiri Khan with the opportunity to feed some of the local monkeys. Then off we went through the coconut plantations, before doing another few miles on the main highway.
Every so often, the support van, which follows us all the way, speeds up and stops ahead with a spread of fresh fruit including pineapples, water melon, dragon fruit etc, and copious amounts of cold water and rehydration drinks. These are truly welcome breaks.
We headed back to the coast and just as we were arriving, we headed up a short but steep hill, which had some of us walking rather than riding, to the temple, Wat Thang Sai. A beautiful set of buildings with a wonderful view out to sea, but so many steps to get to the top of the hill.
Lunch on the beach was a retreat to European food – sandwiches, French fries, pasta, fried onion rings. Normally, it is Thai food. A short ride to our hotel at Ban Krut where we will remain for a rest day tomorrow, before we embark on three days riding of approx 120-140kms per day.
