The WASLI Board and the Conference Proceeding editors, Isabelle Heyerick and Suzanne Ehrlich, proudly present the proceedings of the 2015 WASLI conference.

This edition compiles a selection of papers presented in Istanbul during the 2015 WASLI Conference “Human Rights, where do Interpreters fit in?”.  The eight papers reflect the themes presented at the WASLI conference: interpreting as a means of access to religion, interpreting for deaf professionals, International Sign interpreting, new models for the professionalization of interpreters and the challenges interpreters and Deaf communities face in countries such as Jordan and Kenya.
